Rapper 6ix9ine is renowned for kicking other rappers while they’re down. As is customary, the contentious rap figure reappeared on social media on Wednesday (June 22), just after reports of Lil Tjay’s hospitalization spread. On Wednesday morning (June 22), the 21-year-old rapper was shot in Edgewater, New Jersey, and taken to the hospital for emergency surgery.

6ix9ine wrote a pair of laughing emojis in the comment section of Akademiks’ Instagram post about the shooting to suggest he thought the circumstances were amusing. Lil Tjay, though, is allegedly out of surgery and appears to be recovering, maybe unknown to him. He was recuperating, but he was still “not out of the woods,” a source told TMZ.

Since at least 2020, 6ix9ine and Lil Tjay have been at odds. In an effort to get attention, Lil Durk claimed in August of that year that 6ix9ine and his team had paid the Chicago rapper $3 million to keep harassing him online. They did the same thing with me, Lil Tjay wrote in a swift Instagram Stories response to the accusation. Fuck his cash!

Later, Lil Durk elaborated in an Instagram video and claimed that no amount of money was worth continuing to interact with 6ix9ine.

At the time, Durk remarked, “That bitch ass n-gga label called me. “Someone in his group. I won’t mention his name. Someone from his team phoned a member of my camp and said they would pay me $3 million to continue tormenting this thug. Dead. I hope there are people seeing and listening here.

“Man, that crap is dead. Never in my life will I turn my back on the streets. I’m the fucking voice, you understand? That money stuff won’t make a damn bit of difference. Therefore, I won’t ever react to this n-gga again.

Of course, 6ix9ine is not new to mocking Lil Tjay in his hour of need. He occasionally drags King Von’s name through the mud even after his assassination years ago. However, it appears to be a ruse that is no longer functioning as well at this time.
